This image was taken after the December/ January fires of 2020. I wanted to display our connection and vulnerability we experienced during that time. This image was to show the pain we felt during this time and yet the need for healing and hope for rebirth and regrowth. This will allow us to become stronger and reclaim our sovereignty as custodians of the earth again.

About the artist:
Hi! My name is Kate Lionis and I call Sydney, Australia home and spend most of my time being mum to my two jumping bean boys. Currently my focus is to capture feminine strength and the beauty in that strength. Taking inspiration from photographers Paolo Roversi and Peter Lindbergh, painters Pino and Czaba Markus I endeavour to display women and the beauty of their strength in sensitive yet unapologetic way. I am to achieve this celebrating the female form and her connection with our natural environment. This connection shows at once our vulnerability to the elements and at the same time the strength we gain when we are connected to it.
