Figs and Olives

I absolutely adore figs. 

To me, they are one of the most sublime, sensual fruits to eat and the colours are such a joy to paint. 

I set up this still life with fresh olives from the trees in our garden - I love the silvery green of the leaves against the deep purple of the figs.
