About the artwork

The series ‘Here’, including these works II and IV, is my ongoing response to the more stifling aspects of rigid systems, plans and expectations. There is relief in creating these fluid non-objective and self-determined shapes, particularly when they seem to overcome these pressures, making me both grounded in the moment and also bringing a sense of lightness. I call it ‘here-ness’ and when a work achieves it, I am ready to let it go and I can exhale.
