Size: 30cm x 40cm
Medium: Oil on wooden board
About the artwork:
Paper Crane Tea Party is a vertical still life painted in oils on a wood board. It is framed with a painted white box frame. I painted this after painting a similar setting on an antique Cricket bat for a charity auction. It was very well received, so I thought I would paint it for the wall. The composition features a family heirloom silver tea set, never use anymore, but once dearly loved. The pink cranes and wood surface are reflections in the silver ware, warped by the bulbous shape of the teapot, milk jg and sugar bowl... like reflecting on faded memories. This painting was a finalist in the Calleen Art Prize (Cowra, NSW).
