About the artwork
"I painted this mainly outdoors plein-air, looking towards Manly ferry-side from Middle Head. It was quite warm, summery and sunny. You can just see a ferry starting out. A girl with a red cap walked past. I try to keep it loose and painterly, not so precise, with movement and colour."
