      • Orange provides the sensation of heat, with an association with summer and the hot sun. Also, with the change in colour of the autumn leaves, orange often represents the changing seasons. Because of its association, orange is often used as a transitional colour or to represent a transition or change.

      • Orange stimulates the appetite. It is a very popular colour in restaurants: it keeps people around the table talking and eating for a long time. Many restaurants use pastel versions of orange for their interior décor, to increase the appetite and promote conversation and social interaction. Indeed, orange relates to social communication, stimulating two-way conversations between people.

      • With its enthusiasm for life, the colour orange relates to adventure and risk-taking, promoting physical confidence, competition and independence. Lovers of orange like to take risks in many areas of their life, particularly in the physical areas. They prefer to explore their outer world rather than their inner world. Sportsmen and adventure-seekers relate well to orange.
