Make flowers for Mum
Share
For a fun weekend, we would like to share with you how to create some flowers.
With just a few supplies, you can transform paper into flowers and we know you are going to like it.
This year for Mother’s Day, we’re bringing you some creative ideas.
Let’s have fun making art for our mums!!!
Supplies
- Tissue paper (you can use recycle ones)
- Coloured pipe cleaners (option 1)
- Thick paper (option 2)
- Tape
- "Washi" tape (option 2)
- Scissors
How to make it - Option 01
1/ Cut the thin paper into squares of about 10 cm square
2/ Make a small hole in the center of the paper, and pass a coloured pipe cleaner through it.
3/ Fold the paper in half and then half again to create guidelines for the folding part.
4/ Gather the paper at the bottom with a piece of tape to create the flower.
6) Redo all the steps above to create at least 5 flowers
Then, you have your floral bouquet ;)
How to make it - Option 02
If you don't have pipe cleaners, you can make everything from scratch
A - Making the stem and filament
1/ Take a thick paper - around 150-200 gsm
2 / Draw a line at the top of the page
You can choose how long you want the stem or the filament to be.
Just move the line down ;-)
3 / Create the stem and the filament.
You can either cut the filament first or divide the paper to create the stem.
TIP: We recommend cutting the paper in 4 equal parts and then cutting the filament.
Don't make it too small, it will be difficult to roll them after.
4 / Plain or with paint
We have created two styles.
- One white
- One painted
TIP: Mix and match them to create a more interesting look
If you have decided to go with the painted one, you should use at least two colours.
We used: Yellow and green but feel free to use what you want. It is your bouquet.
5 / Time to roll the stem
To make this part a fun one, we have used a brush.
This will help you make the stem round instead of flat.
B - Making the flower
1/ Cut the thin paper into squares of about 10 cm square
2 / Fold the paper
Follow the steps below to create some lines to help with the folding of the flower.
3 / Cut a small hole in the paper, and pass the stem through it.
4 / Gather the paper at the bottom with a piece of "washi" tape to create the flower.
We have been using Washi tape - see image 04 above.
5 / Redo all the steps above to create at least 5 flowers or you can add the extra paper to create this one
Then, you have your floral bouquet ;)
Enjoy and share your bouquet with us.
