The gold begins to fill in the gouge found in her thigh, then spread through the cracks to heal the rest of her body.
This idea was born through a personal tragedy during the global pandemic. After being broken and left isolated to mend her life, the artist started to transform by reconnecting with herself, listening to the simplicity of nature and connecting with who she truly is. She slowly but surely found the strength and tools to put her life back together, connect to herself in a more meaningful way and heal. In doing so, she found gold within herself and turned a horrible situation into a valuable experience.

About the artist
Kate Lionis is an artist and photographer from Sydney, Australia. Each medium offers different challenges and presents a different message with each medium. However, this has been and always will be, evolution and maybe one day the messages converge. Kate enjoys the difference each medium offers and the challenges they face. The experience Kate gains from each medium help her gain an understanding of the others. This is a challenge Kate never wants to lose, and a big reason she is drawn to art.
