African Girl Carrying Water Home

This was a regular site growing up in South Africa - women carrying large amounts of food or water home on their heads. I always admired how strong and graceful they were to be able to do that and wanted to capture that on canvas. This artwork is done with oil paint and gold foil, mediums I love using together because of the different textures and reflections of light on finished pieces.
