A Sunburnt Country was the first work painted in this series of landscapes. I focussed on simple expressive marks, working with my favourite colours of the day Vermillion and Payne's Grey. This intuitive and imagined landscape is reminiscent of Yass and the long trip down the Hume Hwy through country New South Wales.
