African Woman

This artwork portrays a South African Zulu woman wearing a traditional hat called Isicholo. This piece is particularly special to me as it carries sentimental value due to my South African heritage. Growing up, this was an image I would often see so there is a sense of nostalgia everytime I see or create images like this. It's done with oil paint and gold foil, mediums I love using together because of the different textures and reflections of light on finished pieces.
