Flora-4

This series of work was for a show titled Terra Flora. The inspiration was taken from the land and plant life that is so integral to the region in which it was shown, the Southern Highlands. The land inspired works are reminiscent of aerial photographs or cartographic maps. The floral works are more graphic, with large sections of negative space, and feature plants such as the Kangaroo Paw/ Anigozanthos and the Silver Dollar/ Eucalyptus polyanthemos. The silver Dollar was my favorite plant I photographed for the reference material for the show, due to its unique leaf shape and branch structure.
