Description
Giraffes are found in the dry savannahs of Africa and are the tallest land animal in the world at around 5m in height. Populations of giraffes are in decline due to habitat loss, logging, encroachment by humans and hunting. Giraffes are classified by the International Union for the Conservation of Nature Red List of Threatened Species as vulnerable.
Creating community awareness of the fragility of African wildlife reminds us to do what we can as individuals to conserve and protect not only wildlife but the environment in which they depend for their existence.
