Artist statement
I have an intense love of the unique and stunning landscapes of Australia. I explore rhythm, colour and form from a storehouse of memories of my travels, and occasionally paint plein air or use my photos for inspiration. I turn up to my studio every day and I never know what's going to happen. I love to explore different tools and colour palettes to keep my work fresh and immediate.
A series of works begun plein air last year, recently completed in the studio.
Kakadu 1, Kakadu 2 Started plein air while in Kakadu late last year, completed recently in the studio. Acrylics, ink, pastel and charcoal. 15 x 20cm on 360 gsm watercolour paper.
