About the artist

Mabel Ibekwe, is a Sydney based digital creative, her work mainly focuses on portrait and abstract art. The Nigerian born artist is passionate about commemorating her heritage and representation. Her works are influenced by her African background, as a self-taught digital artist, she explores ideas such as identity, femineity, and culture. Bright colours, luminosity and the nature of the facial form serve as elements for her exploration and intent, which is to create artworks that inspire, uplift and empower.
