The waterbuck is a large antelope found widely in sub-Saharan Africa. The International Union for the Conservation of Nature Red List of Threatened Species lists the waterbuck as of least concern.
The biggest threat facing these antelopes is habitat loss and fragmentation as human settlements infringe on wildlife habitats.
